Aging Gene Tied To Myeloma Researchers in the Institute of Cancers Research in London have discovered a genetic variant that influences the aging process among 4 new variants they associated with myeloma dosage . The scholarly research more than doubles the amount of genetic variants associated with myeloma, bringing the total amount to seven. The extensive research, on Sunday released in Nature Genetics, was mainly funded by the charities Leukaemia & Lymphoma Myeloma and Research UK, with additional support from Cancer Analysis UK. One genetic marker found by the researchers is linked to a gene called TERC, which regulates the distance of the telomere caps on the ends of DNA.
